This first photo below is a collage of sketches I drew a few years ago.  I was reorganizing some notebooks, and pulled these out to take photos.  I find it rewarding to discover past art and craftwork and recall what I was trying to do at the time – plus I find it fun to just look at them!  I copied most of these in black Sharpie marker from drawings in Dover colouring books.  The sketch of the blue couch was a still life.

With some Christmas money, I bought myself a full set of Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils, and I LOVE using them!!!!!!  What a difference from the student level ones.  The colour goes onto paper so much more easily.  The following two sketches are a result of playing around with them on watercolour paper.  We can never have too many flowers!

I saw this idea on Instagram, I think.  Since I also love using Sharpie markers, I had to try this idea of creating a stained glass window effect.  You lay down many wide and narrow stripes of black every which way on paper, then colour in the resulting shapes.

And then there is mandala hand drawing, which I also love.  I drew circles and lines with my compass and ruler (yes, I loved high school geometry), drew in repeated designs all around, and coloured everything in.  I have several global pattern design books, and this mandala makes me want to dig in some more and make more designs from around the world!

This was a fun freehand sketch with a thin tip Sharpie black marker.  I just basically sketched whatever fanciful designs popped into my head (usually difficult for me to do), and then coloured over them with watercolour paint.  I love trying different mediums.  This sketch will go on a card.

I made these Christmas cards for each member of my family.  I glued green tissue paper to watercolour paper, then added spritzes of fine glitter.  I tore red Christmas tree shapes and handstitched them to the paper.  After adding a greeting, I glued these to cardstock.  Pretty easy, and pretty to look at.

And finally, a couple of photos of Sharpie marker flower drawings.  As always, they are hand-drawn and hand-coloured.

For these ones, I made myself try new flower shapes and new background designs.
